Animal Farm Book Analysis

The animal farm book was written by George Orwell in 1945. The setting of this book takes place on a farm in England. The name of this farm is "Manor Farm ". The world was criticized for the ingenious animals that dealt with the Soviets and the Soviet revolution in 1914 times. The words Equality, Power, Freedom are widely used as a language. The pilot of this book consists of the sovereignty of the animals subjected to the orders and desires of Humans, which they try to establish after they get tired of this situation. Although the animals spend a lot of effort, they are content with little and the owner of the farm, Mr They are tormented by Jones. Animal Farm's Exposition: The events begin after a night's dream with the meeting and speeches by the most respected of the Animals and the old pig "Old Major". He tells and persuades all animals to fight for their freedom and not to oppress themselves anymore against humans. The old major also teaches them an anthem. The name of this song is "Beasts of England''. Animals love this song very much and they sing it all together. The very old major died a few days later after which the animals on the farm begin to be poorly cared for and violence is applied. As the animals realized and wanted to gain their own freedom, they started a revolt and the owner of the farm, Mr They banished all people, including Jones. Later, the name of the farm known as principality farm was changed to animal farm. The external conflict of this book is between the old big major and the new ruler Napoleon. It stems from management ideas with different ways of thinking. everything that happens from an old major's speech to Napoleon taking control is the rising action in the book. The climax of this book is that Napoleon was elected as a stand-alone election candidate after changing the way of the rule to a republic, and then the pigs in the animal farm walk on two legs and dress like them. He is totally opposed to the words "Four legs are good, two legs are bad", which are their goals in the first place and they always say. The falling action in Animal Farm is that pigs continue to exploit other animals by seeing full control on themselves. Resolution In Animal Farm took place when the pigs betrayed themselves. The pigs tended to have completely human traits. He dresses like people and walks like them. Then they were drinking alcohol and playing card games with them.

Characters :

Mr Jones

Mr Jones was the real owner of the farm. He had a careless and tough nature. The animals did not like him. He was expelled from the farm, and then the animals were making all the conditions so that He would not come back. He attempted to come back but the animals won. At first, people were with him, but later they stopped caring.

Old Major :

The Old Major was the oldest, reliable, and wise pig on the farm. Everyone listened to what he said. After seeing the song "Beasts of England" in his dream one night, he always gathered the animals to inform and liberate them before they died. He advised them that people are evil now, to start rising for their own freedom. After that, he died a few days later.

Napoleon:

He is one of the pigs who manage their ideology for the animal farm with the snowball, but they cannot agree with the snowball and they constantly argue about their ideas. Later on, he trains 9 dogs and uses them on snowballs to destroy them under management and send them from the farm. He tells a lot about snowballs through animals and tries to prove that he is the only leader among animals. As time passes, Napoleon further advances his position in government and changes the life on the farm with management that makes all the decisions on his own. With the other pig squealer beside him, he confuses the other animals so much that the animals doubt everything and just start saying what Napoleon is true. Over the years, Napoleon starts meeting with people and wants to do things with them. He changes the rules of the farm one by one and keeps the pigs alive by changing them as if they were human beings. Napoleon stands for Stalin, who ruled the Soviet Union from 1930 to 1953.

Snowball :

Snowball was at first one of the verbal rulers who ran the farm in collaboration with Napoleon. He spoke a lot and was very talented. He was heroically resisted and wounded against the attack of the people on the farm, and behind this the hero received the award. After these successful situations, he came up with the idea of building a windmill on the farm, but Napoleon disagreed and prepared a trap for him. He decided to train nine newborns and used them against snowballs. The dogs attacked the snowballs, and no one has seen it since that day. Later on, Napoleon's grudge with the snowball did not end. He said things that made the animals disappointed with the snowball. He made the animals believe that the snowball was actually a traitor, and with things like cooperating with humans.

The most important thing that Snowball brings to the farm is the seven commandments. These seven commandments are as follows.

1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.

2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.

3. No animal shall wear clothes.

4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.

5. No animal shall drink alcohol.

6. No animal shall kill any other animal.

7. All animals are equal.

Squealer :

Squealer was one of the talented fat pigs. Although he initially worked with Napoleon and Snowball, he later decided to be with Napoleon and always worked for him. He always tried to convince the animals that Napoleon was good qualities and wonderful. He was always justifying Napoleon by immediately destroying the bad situations. When it comes to the last pages of the book, in chapter 10, the squaler begins to walk like a human on two legs and begins to say "four legs are good, two legs are better" with sheeps.

Mr Pilkington:

Mr Pilkington owns the Foxwood farm and neighbours the livestock farm. Although their relationship with Napoleon was mixed at first, they later cooperated with the animal farm and did joint business. Lastly, they played the card game with Napoleon and said the following remarkably: “You have to deal with your lower-level animals, and we have to deal with our inferior people. “With this sentence, we can understand that not all animals are equal like humans.

Benjamin :

Benjamin was the oldest, grumpy animal on the farm, and his mouth was not very pleasant. He spoke very little, but what he wanted to say would make sense. Not the only one on the farm would laugh and "what is there to laugh about?" '' he would say. He also admired Boxer. Benjamin was sceptical of everything. For Benjamin, hunger, hardship, and disappointment were immutable laws of life.
